Sgt. George Vit
Sergeant George Vit has served with the South Brunswick Police Department in New Jersey for 18 years and is currently assigned to the Support Services Bureau, which oversees Technology Implementation, Training, NJSACOP and CALEA Accreditation, and Scheduling. In addition to patrol and IT responsibilities, he has served on the department’s technology committee, health and resiliency committee, and the National Night Out committee.
Sgt. Vit is a Field Training Officer, Conductive Energy Device Operator, and was the department’s first Drug Recognition Expert. He has implemented South Brunswick’s body worn camera program and numerous technology improvements that benefit the department. His current activities include the IACP CJIS Committee, IACP LPR Working Group, IACP Technology Resource Guide, IJIS Law Enforcement Advisory Committee, IJIS Emergency Communications and Response Advisory Committee and organizing AFCEA’s annual Law Enforcement and Public Safety Conference. Sgt. Vit has a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications Management and an MBA in Management of Technology from New Jersey Institute of Technology. Sgt. Vit is also a veteran of the U.S. Army
