Richard Neylon is a Partner at the international law firm Holman Fenwick Willan LLP (HFW). He heads the firm's global Complex Environments team, handling major incidents and disputes for corporations and their insurers in hostile and complex environments globally. Including matters arising from casualties, major loss, war, terrorism, political risks, and other challenging events. Richard has played a central role in resolving over 150 hijacking, kidnapping, extortion, and detention cases over the last 15 years. He is recognised as a leading lawyer globally in this field. Richard has been heavily engaged with complexities arising from the Ukrainian war. From emergency extraction of personnel, through to assisting war risk insurers and shipowners with 25 commercial vessels detained in Ukrainian ports.
