Mariola’s career spans software and consulting firms working with banks globally on the best use of technologies to address regulatory compliance demands. Her TBML knowledge journey dates back to 2014 when she joined British Aerospace and Engineering (BAE) Applied Intelligence division that specialised in financial crime prevention and cyber security. Her work originally focused on financial crime market research spanning both the public and private sectors, but gradually narrowed down to money laundering detection through the use of sophisticated compliance technologies such as social network analytics. Mariola's pilot study on the Brexit impact on TBML has been published in the Journal of Money Laundering Controls, featured on the GTR News, and cited by the Institute of Export and International Trade UK
