Kat’s early career as a fully authorised Environmental Health Officer with safety and licensing experience gained at large outdoor music events led to her becoming a lecturer at the University of Salford. With a PhD in fire service incident command, she moved into the NHS before returning to teaching on UG and PG programmes in risk and emergency management at UCLan. Constantly seeking more creative and inventive ways to support colleagues her most recent adventure involves creating non-silo social learning spaces where anyone with skin in the resilience and security game can share, contribute, and learn together.
