Jeannie Barr MEPS
Jeannie is a seasoned resilience professional, policy advisor, and practitioner with 23 years operational experience, working for public, private and voluntary sector organisations.
Her expertise includes organisational resilience, crisis and emergency management, disaster risk management, event management, learning and development facilitation and coaching.
She prides herself on her ability to combine strategic level thinking with practical on the ground solutions that support people, communities, and organisations to strengthen their resilience and is a strong advocate of the emergency management and resilience profession.
She is currently the Interim Chair and Director of Professional Standards and Learning for The Emergency Planning Society, the professional body for those working within emergency management and resilience.
She regularly has articles published in publications such as Crisis Response Journal, Emergency Services Times and the Resilience Journal and has been part of individual development projects including the National Occupational Standards for Civil Contingencies, the Core Competence Framework and Level 9 Professional Development Award in Civil Contingencies. Most recently she has been part of the trailblazer group for the new Degree Apprenticeship in Resilience and Emergencies.
She has a passion for storytelling, helping others to reach their full potential, challenging pre-conceived ideas and creating innovative solutions to complex problems.
