Lewis is the unit Inspector for the National Vehicle Threat Mitigation Unit, which oversees the National Barrier Asset (NBA). This is an extensive amount of temporary rated vehicle security barriers and protective security fencing that is deployed a part of hostile vehicle mitigation schemes to protect publicly accessible locations and events.

The NBA is available to be deployed as an emergency or for planned events to support Police, Authorities and Commercial Organisations.

The unit undertakes assessments, provides counter vehicle as a weapon tactical advice, delivers practical solutions through the provision of the NBA, and have delivered protection to a myriad of events such as the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles III Coronation and the Commonwealth Games 2022.
