Hamish is employed by Serco as the Head of the Cabinet Office’s Emergency Planning College (EPC) and will become the Head of the UK Resilience Academy (UKRA) when it is launched ‘up and out’ from the EPC, in Spring 2025. The EPC offers educational, training, exercising and advisory services throughout the resilience community of practice, including those in government departments, public, private and voluntary sectors.

Previously, Hamish had a 36-year career in the Royal Air Force, with significant overseas operational experience, and latterly as a Senior Military Liaison Officer during the COVID pandemic and then as the Deputy Commandant of the UK Defence Academy.
