Highway Care has proved once again that safety is part of its DNA, after receiving RoSPA Gold Medal for health & Safety for the fifth year in a row, and a RoSPA Fleet Safety Gold Award.
The RoSPA Health and Safety Awards is the largest occupational health and safety awards programme in the UK. Running for nearly 70 years, the awards programme recognises and rewards organisations, individuals and teams that go above and beyond to achieve health and safety excellence. The Awards have almost 2,000 entries every year, covering nearly 50 countries and touching the lives of more than seven million employees worldwide, considering companies’ overarching health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
The RoSPA Fleet Safety Awards, provide specific recognition for health and safety best practice in a company’s management of occupational road risk, encompassing all fleet management systems, including vehicle maintenance, driver training and operational due diligence.
Julia Small, RoSPA’s Achievements Director, said: “Accidents at work and work-related ill health don’t just have huge financial implications or cause major disruption – they significantly impact an individual’s quality of life. That’s why good safety performance deserves to be recognised and rewarded.
“We are thrilled that Highway Care has won a RoSPA Gold Medal and RoSPA Fleet Safety Gold Award, and would like to congratulate them on showing an unwavering commitment to keeping their employees, customers and partners safe from accidental harm and injury.”
Adrian Bullock, Engineering and Manufacturing Director at Highway Care, commented: “We are very proud to have been awarded the Gold Medal again this year, celebrating our 5th consecutive Gold Medal award. At Highway Care, making peoples environments safer sits at the heart of everything we do, so to receive this prestigious accolade from the most respected organisation in accident prevention is a wonderful affirmation that we are not only helping our customers keep their teams and the public safer, but we’re also protecting our own people too.”
“These accolades highlight a safety culture across our business and recognise the efforts of the whole team in focusing on delivering our health and safety goals in everything we do.”
